Another week another feature Friday on the blog and I find myself scrolling through one of my favourites Sarah Bambey once again. Not only is she lovely and down to earth and her recipes ARE INSANELY gorgeous and delicious but most of all I just love her natural zest for life and ‘no bullshit’ attitude. Her blog is called ‘Pretend Health Freak’ because she is exactly that. She is not a qualified nutritionist, PT, chef or yoga professional – Just a girl pretending to be an expert on all things health. (with google these days aren’t we all?) LEMON MERINGUE PIE – IQS
When you are living a sugar free lifestyle there are certain things that you just come to terms with giving up because there is no ‘healthy’ alternative way of making it. One of these things is Meringues. Continue reading “LEMON MERINGUE PIE – IQS”
THE BREAD WITH THE MOST CRED
When it comes to weight loss journeys and healthy lifestyles many people fear carbs and in particular bread. Especially with the Paleo and Raw diets fadding at the moment it seems the ‘cool’ thing to do is ditch the grain! Continue reading “THE BREAD WITH THE MOST CRED”
THE 1% WORKOUT
There are 24 hours in a day. 1440 minutes in a day. Therefore 15 minutes is 1.042% of a day. Can you spare 1% of that for a workout? Continue reading “THE 1% WORKOUT”
YOU HAVEN’T SEEN CANBERRA UNTIL YOU HAVE…
This post not only marks my 100th blog post so far (thank you, thank you) BUT also the start of the latest part of my blog – TRAVEL!!
First on the list – CANBERRA OF COURSE!! When you google things to do in Canberra you will be bombarded by memorials, museums and galleries to visit BUT is this really the best that Canberra has to offer? Continue reading “YOU HAVEN’T SEEN CANBERRA UNTIL YOU HAVE…”
BUT FIRST… COFFEE
I don’t know about you but I am a creature of habit, not one who likes too much change, and someone who falls into a routine very comfortably and fast. Ok ok yes these are sounding like excuses you are right. These are the things that I tell myself every day when I think … “do I have a coffee addiction?” and the answer is yes. I do. You probably do too. Coffee is the most consumed beverage in the world. Continue reading “BUT FIRST… COFFEE”
12 WAYS TO CONQUER THE EARLY MORNING WORKOUT
“Motivation is what gets you started – habit is what keeps you going”
Gone are the days of being a university student – flexible hours, catching up with friends, home all day long and sleeping in! Now living out of home in a city working full-time – trying to fit in a workout is tough… especially as winter approaches!!! Here come the frosty winter mornings … -6 degrees outside and pitch black when the alarm goes off at 5.30. Stubbing toes in search of the bathroom, blinding ourselves with the heat lights and having to carry cups of hot water out to the car to pour on the windscreen. Yes I am talking about a Canberra winter!! Continue reading “12 WAYS TO CONQUER THE EARLY MORNING WORKOUT”

IMMUNE BOOSTING REMEDIES
My partner recently got a severe super bug infection in his elbow after knocking (or rather stabbing) a rusty nail at work. The last 5 days have been spent in and out of hospital, with minimal sleep, not the usual nutritious food and plenty of processed sugars… sorry body! Continue reading “IMMUNE BOOSTING REMEDIES”
SALTED CARAMEL VANILLA NUT PROTEIN BALLS
Protein balls are an absolute essential for the freezer in my house! I even have a stash in the freezer at work if I am about to dash off to a meeting and need something to get me by until my late lunch. Although they can be dangerous for people like me with zero self control when it comes to sweet treats! I tried rolling them super large so that eating one was enough although I just ended up eating a couple anyway. My limit is 3. You gotta draw the line somewhere! Continue reading “SALTED CARAMEL VANILLA NUT PROTEIN BALLS”
