Came home the other night craving carbonara. Whipped this ‘clean’ version up in no time. Mum used to make a cheesy mac for us when we were little and I remember the secret ingredients being tomato paste and worcestershire sauce. Trust me; its secret!

With no expectations I certainly loved it. The tagines, the markets, the locals. It is only a stone throw from London and the culture and beautiful architecture and French style is just amazing. A country that I knew very little about but soon learnt to love. We only had 3 days but it was the perfect amount of exploring and relaxing pool side. Located south west of Italy in the middle of the Med, expect large super yachts you can admire from afar, little colourful boats, plenty of beach clubs, over crowded bays, Mediterranean sunshine and cuisine and and a killer tan. After spending 2 weeks in Spain and getting pretty good at Spanish (and committing to a $8.99 app to learn it) I was disappointed that I liked Portugal even more and that their languages were completely different. Portugal was just beautiful. Everything about it. The people. The food. The beautiful coastline and small cities/towns. The first time I went we visited Porto and Lisbon and most recently last year we got a camper van and drove the entire coast line from Faro to Porto and beyond. CHAMONIX; K + K FIT AND HEALTHY GUIDE TO
My first European ski experience and just wow. Sorry Australia but your 15 meter long slopes just don’t compare to the 15 minute long ones in Chamonix and the French Alps. We got a cheap flight to Geneva from London although let me just stop there as I won’t be mentioning the word ‘cheap’ again. A ski holiday is not cheap. The French Alps are not cheap. But it was so fun that my bank account can take the hit for the amazing 4 days we had… one aperol spritz at a time.
NATURES SKITTLES
The other day I caught myself out by saying “oooo if you are feeling sick eat white foods… they are apparently good for your immune system” and then followed by listing off all of the white coloured foods I could think of… Onion, garlic, mushrooms, leeks, cauliflower… and then I stopped realising that I had only ‘heard’ this once and had NO IDEA why or if it was true.
So here is the dirt behind why certain food colours mean certain things to our body and why.
WHITE = IMMUNITY (beta-glucans); Immune system. Ok so I was right here. White foods activate our natural killer cells and reduce cancer risk whilst strengthening our immune systems
RED = HEART (lycopene); improves heart and blood health, supports joints and increases circulation.
ORANGE = VISION (beta-carotene); boosts eye and skin health and may decrease your risk of developing cancer
YELLOW = BEAUTY (carotenoids); stimulates digestion and promotes collagen growth for radiant youthful skin and strong bones
BLUE/PURPLE = AGING (anthocyanins); powerful healing antioxidants for retinal health and vision, assisting with healthy aging and improving memory
GREEN = DETOXING (chlorophyll); powerful detoxers, improves oxygenation and normalises digestion
So now when mum says “eat your greens” you can turn around and say “but what about my reds and whites too?”

COCONUT CHOCOLATE LOVE BISCUITS
Forget the diamonds, jewels, fine dining, champagne and red roses… Valentine’s day is all about the CHOCOLATE and lots of it. If there is one thing you should all know about me – the way to my heart is all about the food. Strawberries coated in dark chocolate, decadent slices, choc-raspberry tarts and cheesecakes or any cake for that matter oozing with chocolatey goodness. Sugar free of course!
