This green is the perfect combination of gnarly greenness and sweetness because lets face it no one wants to be sipping of just kale right? I always like to add at least one sweetener to my smoothie – all natural of course. Because it means I can jam some wilted greens from the fridge without paying the price on the taste buds. Food is meant to be enjoyed so don’t make yourself block your nose and scull a horrific chunky smoothie that doesn’t taste unreal! And why would you when there are so many delish recipes out there. This is my go to green warrior smoothie when I am feeling my body needs an extra boost of greens and veggies.
GREEN WARRIOR SMOOTHIE
Serves 1 – GF DF V P SF – 4 minutes
1 frozen banana
1/2 avocado
2 Tbs oats
1 stalk celery
1 handful greens (spinach or kale)
1 stalk of fresh mint leaves (apparently basil is also good?)
handful of cashews or macadamias (about 10-15 but whose counting?)
some freshly squeezed lemon and a tiny chunk of ginger (optional)
1 cup coconut water or almond milk
2 Tbs oats
METHOD
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Good fats (avocado), carbs (oats/banana), protein (nuts) and greens? CHECK!!!! This is the ultimate warrior smoothie perfect for fit warriors on the go!!!
Serve with a strawberry, some sliced banana and any nuts/seeds you have! Coconut chips are also yummo!
