If you follow any health or fitness foodie on instagram you are bound to have come across Matcha Green Tea Powder. Not only does it have the most beautiful green colour and make everything look stunning, it is amazingly good for you too. Just like regular green tea which is packed with antioxidants, matcha is great for your insides and metabolism. Green tea not only speeds up your metabolism and gives you energy, it is great for detoxing and weightloss!
These balls are super easy and quick to make and store fantastically in the fridge or freezer. They are but free so perfect for lunch boxes and kids. Oh and what’s better? They only contain 4 ingredients so you won’t break the bank at the health food store. Cheap easy and clean!
They are a great on the go snack or little sweet treat post dinner. Make a batch (or two) today!
MATCHA COCONUT PROTEIN BALLS
Approx 10 balls – GF DF SF P V – 15 minutes
1 cup oats
1 cup Loving Earth coconut shredded or dessicated
1 cup dates – soaked in hot water
1 Tbs matcha green tea powder* Matcha Maiden
1 scoop Neat Nutrition Vanilla Whey
Additional; totally up to you but I added some cacao nibs last minute for that extra antioxidant kick and crunch.
METHOD:
blend all ingredients in a high speed foodprocessor. When combined roll into golf ball sized balls. Roll in extra matcha powder for that stunning green finish… And extra green tea hit! Store in fridge or freezer.
* if you don’t have matcha powder you could use any greens powder ie spirulina, vital greens or bare greens. However they would not contain the benefits of green tea powder but are still great! For chocolate lovers use cacao powder !!
