TO SEE

Hire a bike and go for a ride around the streets. They have a bike lane to ride on which is really cool. You can get everywhere you need with a bike.

Antoni Gaudi Buildings; this famous Architect has some insanely impressive buildings you need to check out in Barca. Casa Mila and Casa Batllo are both worth it dating back to late 1800’s.

Park Guell;  Another Gaudi special this park is just fabulous. The park and gardens are open to the public and offering great views over the city, it’s a colourful mosaic dream.

Sagrada Familia; is the largest unfinished Roman Catholic church in the world. It is rare to see it without some scaffolding or a crane or two but it’s an architectural beauty. Of course designed by Gaudi because he was the god of Barcelona’s architecture.

La Ramblas; the main street of artists, cafes and markets. Wander down but hold onto your handbag tightly and be wary that is it very touristy.

Gothic Quarter; has narrow medieval streets filled with trendy bars, clubs and Catalan restaurants.

La Boqueria; world famous food market of dreams. Get your bum and hungry belly to this market for some foodie heaven.

TO EAT

Travel and Cake; Sister cafe to Brunch and Cake, both fabulous. Expect eggs benedict in a hot dog, nachos with guacamole injections, and insane donuts and cakes.

Flax and Kale; Ultimate hip healthy restaurant with fab sweet and savoury meals. The restaurant is owned by Teresa Carles and the beetroot sliders (pic below) with salmon pattys are divine.

Organics; All-organic “slow fast food” restaurant in the centre of Barcelona.

Hummus; If you’re into hummus (who’s not?) then this is the place to go. The menu is simple but with quality options that are delicious. Grab a tub takeaway and go have a picnic.

Nomad coffee Lab and Shop; fabulous coffee shop, visit on a week day morning. Go for a bike ride for a morning brew.

Quimet & Quimet; off the beaten track, small antique bar for tapas. Most of the tapas is canned fish on toast pieces. Keepin’ it simple.
