I LOVE YOU SO MATCHA

Matcha watta?? Yeah I said the same thing until I googled it, tasted it and got hooked. Move over cacao and chia because the new superfood kid on the block is Matcha Powder. So what on earth is it? Matcha powder is finely ground 100% Japanese Green tea powder. Yep that’s it. Originally sourced from Japan where it is hailed as the hero of health, Matcha is natural fuel for the body, mind and soul.

So other than its gorgeous colour, why should we buy Matcha powder if we already drink green tea? Good question. When you make a normal green tea you brew the leaves and then discard them. When you have a matcha latte (latte? keep reading) you consume the whole leaf therefore up to 137 times more antioxidants.

Other than killer high antioxidants what else is it good for?

  • healthy glowing skin
  • speeds up your metabolism
  • promotes weight loss
  • natural energy source
  • immunity booster
  • cancer fighting and disease preventing
  • natural detoxer

But why is it so expensive? You only need 1/2 – 1 tsp to reap the full benefits so a little goes a long way. At the end of the day you get what you paid for  and there’s a reason this gorgeous green powder is worth its weight in gold.

How do I consume it? Hmmm… add it to everything!! But seriously you can add it to smoothies, slices, raw cakes, baking, use it in salad dressings, sprinkle it on cakes and other desserts or make yourself a nice warm Matcha latte >> recipe here. You can even add it to natural face scrubs and hair masks. And then lick it off your face!!
